The other day I posted this on my FB:
"If one person wins and another person fails, we all fail. I win only if and when everybody else wins too. If my freedom means someone else is shackled, I am still bound. This is not to say that I can free anyone else. Everyone needs to free and heal themselves on their own ultimately, but it should never be at the expense of others - human or animal. We live on this planet together and sometimes, when we see clearly, we remember that we are all one, all made up of the same stuff."
I have no idea who to attribute this too though...
I don't know why Tibet has been shackled, or why they are not allowed to be free in this world that we are currently living in, where peace and freedom are such outspoken desires. I don't presume to know what either party in this particular world event has to learn or to gain from this experience. I do however, think that release has been long overdo; That even more can be attained and learned by the freedom of all.
This is the message I got last night:
Greetings from Office of Tibet, Pretoria!!
Tibetan people in Tibet find China’s occupation and repression beyond their tolerance. The situation in Tibet has gone worse since 2008, which has led Phuntsok to sacrifice himself by setting on fire.
Now this acts has become the ultimate sacrifice one could offer for one’s nation. This year, since 16 March 2011, eight young Tibetans self-immolated – out of which 4 martyrs passed away and 4 are not known about their whereabouts. Detail as under:
1. Lobsang Phuntsok, age 21, set himself on fire on March 2011. He passed away.
2. Tsewang Norbu, age 29, on 15 August, 2011. He passed away.
3. Khaying, age 18, on 07 October, 2011. He passed away.
4. Choephel, age 19, on 7 October, 2011. He passed away.
5. Lobsang Kelsang, 18, 26 September 2011. Not know about his whereabouts
6. Lobsang Kunchok, age 19, 26 September 2011. Not know about his whereabouts
7. Kelsang ‘Wangchuk, age 17, 3 October 2011, Not know about his whereabouts.
8. Norbu Damdul, age 19, on 15 October, 2011. Not know about his whereabouts.
Central Tibetan Administration and Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile have jointly planned activities through out the world to highlight the deepening crisis in Tibet. And on the 19.10.2011, we are offering a day-long prayers through out world at a time for the deceases and all those who are suffering as a gesture of solidarity with Tibetan in Tibet.
Hence, we request you to kindly help us circulate the message to our friends, to join us on pray either by physically or by spiritually on the day – 19.10.2011.
With regards,
For Office of Tibet
Tenzin Kunsang.
Use it or don't use it, you have your reasons which are valid for you. I am simply getting the word out and spreading a little knowledge, so that people may know what is happening in the world and that, despite their feeling of freedom, there are still shackles in that need to be abolished.
love xx
